Bullers Wood School For Boys

Personal Development

Personal Development encompasses all that we do as a school to ensure students leave us as well-rounded individuals who contribute positively to society. This includes our Learning for Life curriculum, our tutor time programme and assemblies. It also includes careers education, educational visits, student leadership roles, the house system and extracurricular provision - information on these areas can be found under 'Key Information' on the website.

Learning for Life Curriculum

 Assemblies

All students receive two assemblies each week. On a Monday, we have our whole school assembly which links directly to our theme for that term eg. respect. Students then have a year group assembly on another day of the week, led by their Head of Year. Assemblies are used as an opportunity to reflect on current world events, news and school values.

Tutor Time

Students follow a comprehensive tutor time programme each week led by their form tutor. This involves opportunities for reading, reflection, attendance reviews, careers information and discussion on current topical issues. In Years 10 and 11, tutor time also includes learning for life curriculum delivery.
